RB3 emergency beacons are your rescue link when flying, sailing, boating skiing, bush walking or four wheel driving. Whatever you go on land, water or in the air - if you do anything that could put you in a life-threatening situation requiring rescue. RB3 should be your constant companion.
RB3 is a ‘go where you go’ pocket-size emergency beacon, similar in size to a cigarette pack. It is supplied in an armatech carry bag complete with neck strap and belt loop or alternatively the RB3 can be fitted to your lifejacket or emergency flotation device. In an emergency situation the RB3 does not have to leave your pocket. To activate, simply flick up the antenna to vertical, extend it and push the red button. The unit commences transmitting immediately and will continue to do so for up to 3½ days.
The RB3 is Australia’s first microprocessor-controlled, truly pocket-size beacon that transmits on both the 121.5MHz and 243 MHz international distress frequencies simultaneously, giving a satellite alert and position to the search and rescue authorities responsible for the area.

ACR 406 Boat EPIRB

Pains Wessex SOS EPIRB 406

is a third generation satellite distress beacon designed to operate in conjunction with the Cospas-Sarsat international satellite search and rescue system. This system locates beacons transmitting on the 406MHz frequency to within 5km (3nm). Once Search and Rescue (SAR) units are at the distress scene the beacons 121.5MHz homing transmitter and its high intensity xenon strobe light aid final location even in poor visibility. The SOS 406 is fully compatible with Cospas-Sarsat and Global Maritime Distress Safety System (GMDSS) regulations and meets the latest requirements (A810-19) of the International Maritime Organisation (IMO). When shipped the beacon is programmed with a unique serial number which must be registered with the national authorities. Where national authorities allow, the beacon can be re-programmed with the vessel's satellite or radio call sign. This is done by the distributor using an infra-red light pen connected to a Windows based computer. The SOS 406 is supplied with a fully enclosed automatic float free housing which allows the EPIRB to be self-tested while in the housing for SOLAS GMDSS application. For non GMDSS use the SOS 406 can be supplied in a quick release bulkhead mounting bracket, or in a non automatic version of the fully enclosed housing. Once removed from its mounting bracket activation is automatic by immersion in water or manual by a protected push button on the rear of the EPIRB. An additional self-test button runs a short diagnostic check and indicates the EPIRB is ready for use.
