Getaway
Sailing Adventures is a Sydney-based sailing and adventure school
that specialises in making the sailing dreams of non-sailors and novices
come true. Whether you want to race competitively, seek adventure
on the high seas, or cruise in sheltered water, Getaway has something
for you! We are proudly one of the most active sailing schools in Sydney.
Getaway offers a great mix of experienced
instructors, an excellent fleet of yachts and a solid reputation
in the marine industry. Between them, our instructors have sailed
and cruised more than 50,000 offshore miles, including successfully
finishing the last five Sydney to Hobart yacht races. During the storm
ravaged 1998 race, Getaway finished a credible 16th and were the only
sailing school vessel to complete the race. The boat and crew all being safe and sound after what turned out to be a tragic race for many competitors.
Our classroom and offices are located at Birkenhead Point Marina,
Drummoyne. The spacious classroom, positioned right on the waterfront,
offers an excellent environment in which to learn everything about
sailing and boat handling. With a healthy customer base, Getaway are
growing stronger and more diverse every year. In the past six years
we've expanded our business beyond sailing instruction and now organise
events, race training, safety courses,
radio operators courses
and corporate team building charters.
Getaway Sailing Adventures offers more than just sailing. We open
the door to a new sport and way of life. You can then spend your whole life appreciating it and expanding a great circle of friends with whom to enjoy it.
