At Getaway we proudly boast that we are one of the most active sailing schools in NSW. We have competed in every offshore race in the sailing calendar over the last five years and have an active social / cruising calendar. This gives our customers the chance to put their newly learnt skills to practice!

Not only offshore but inshore as well. We compete in the summer twilight series which gives everybody the chance to get on the harbour as much as possible. We also compete in the Cruising Yacht Clubs BMW winter series through out the winter.

Offshore racing not your thing?

Then why not sail with us on board our One Design Sydney 38 in this great land based Regatta? Join us in the Whitsundays as we spend a week racing round the many Islands in an action packed race week.

Famous for Hawaiian shirts, after sailing parties and great scenery, this is a great regatta on line winning boat.

Audi Hamilton Island Race Week - 21st to 29th August 2009 - Boat Charter

Hamilton Island Race Week is one of Australia's premier regattas. What a way to do race week by chartering a fast and highly competitive Volvo 60, divisional winner in both 2007 and 2008!

Fleets of over 200 boats compete in a number of competitive divisions.

Hamilton Island to Sydney - Sydney 38 - September 2009 - Pay Per Seat

Come and join us on the trip south back home, through the Whitsunday Islands and down the east coast. Let's hope we get to see the dolphins and whales again; they put on quite a show last year!

Gosford to Lord Howe Island Race - 31st October 2009 Volvo 60 - Pay Per Seat

2006 we received the triple: Line Honours, 1st in PHS and the race record!!!!
2007 year we got the line honours again!!!!!!

This 414nm race is one of only two Cat 1 Ocean Races, in Australia.

Come race with us on our Volvo 60, as we reach across the Tasman Sea to the untouched tropical paradise of Lord Howe Island. This race is a small fleet of only 22 boats since space is limited due to anchoring in the lagoon.

Lord Howe Island is a heritage listed and is a protected nature reserve. It's a great place to stop over for a couple of days and fly back on one of the dodgy charter planes or sail back with us if you have not had enough fun.

Spots are limited and fill up quick so book in advance; spots often fill up by July!

Rolex Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race 2009 - Sydney 38 - Pay Per Seat

If you want to compete in this years Sydney-Hobart race, but don't have the shackles to go for the fast race package on the Volvo 60, then why not sail with us on the Sydney 38?

Hobart to Sydney - Coastal Cruise January 2010 - Sydney 38 - Pay Per Seat

Join us in the New Year as we return our race boats home to Sydney.

We sail along the Tasmanian coastline from Hobart to Sydney after New Years Eve, not a bad way to welcome in the New Year!

Depending on weather, the typical stop offs are at Port Arthur, Wineglass Bay and Eden as we make our way back to Sydney.

This sail is one of our favourites and passes some of Australia's most stunning landscapes during the 640 nautical mile passage. It's a great way to build miles too!

The yacht leaves Hobart on 2nd January 2010 and expects to arrive back in Sydney on the 8th.

There will be plenty of opportunities to practice navigation, sail trim and helming. Food, drink, and safety gear are provided. Wet weather gear is available for hire upon request.

Hobart to Sydney - The fast way!! Volvo 60 - Pay Per Seat

Want to fast track it back to Sydney this summer on the world famous Volvo 60,ex Djuice Dragons. Then book your crew spot now.

We leave 2nd January 2010, then beeline it to Sydney at a blistering pace aiming to be back in Sydney around 6th January (weather dependent).

Some of you might want to experience the miles in preparation for the a future Sydney to Hobart race, or just gain some solid offshore miles on a hot offshore racing yacht.

This trip is not for the faint hearted, some offshore experience is necessary but we will instruct you on how to sail one of these offshore beasts.... It’s a trip of a lifetime!

Pittwater to Coffs Harbour Race - Sydney 38 - Pay Per Seat

Come and join us this summer holiday as we race north to Coffs Harbour. We will be competing this year in one of our Sydney 38's. It will be a great fleet with over 17 other 38's in a fleet of over 150 boats. The race huges the east coast as we sail fast up through the many head lands and bays trying to keep out of the fast flowing northerly current. The race starts at 1200hrs on the 2nd of Janurary 2010. The race is aprox 260 N Miles and will take between 2 and 3 days to complete. Join us on the return and get 20 % off the price. The cost includes race entry fees, food, instruction and boat hire. Coffs Harbour to Sydney Offshore Trip - Sydney 38 - Pay Per Seat

If you have some time off in the new year and want to see the east Australian coast, then sign up. This trip wil leave on the Saturday 9th of Janurary and sail leasurely along the coast. Possibly stopping in Port Stephens along the way and then on to Sydney after 3 days offshore. Its the perfect chance to see what coastal cruising is all about.
